Beyond the Heat: A Craft Hot Sauce Workshop
$45.00
Join Benjamin Williams, founder of Mastodon Hot Sauce and maker of a currently featured sauce on Hot Ones, for a hands-on exploration of what makes craft hot sauce so exciting on Tuesday, October 20th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the Broome Incubator Kitchen located at the Broome County Regional Farmers Market.
Hot sauce is about more than heat - it’s about flavor, balance, creativity, and a little curiosity. We’ll break down the building blocks of a great sauce and explore how peppers, acidity, sweetness, aromatics, spices, and other ingredients work together to create something entirely your own.
Working in small groups, you’ll start with a shared set of base ingredients, then experiment with different flavors and combinations to develop your own hot sauce (to take home!) from scratch. Along the way, we’ll talk about balancing heat and flavor, choosing ingredients with intention, and why there are nearly endless possibilities hiding inside a bottle of hot sauce.
No experience necessary - just bring your curiosity, your palate, and a willingness to roam a little beyond the expected.
